The arrest resulted from a Putnam County incident on Saturday, Aug. 26 around 3 p.m., when Kent Police responded to a home on Dunwoodie Road for a reported physical fight.
According to Kent Police, arriving officers found two people engaged in a verbal dispute in the middle of the road. After speaking with numerous people at the scene, authorities eventually determined that the aggressor of the fight had allegedly been 40-year-old James Watson of Carmel, police said.
Watson allegedly began the physical fight while trying to remove a dog from the property that had bitten a person in the home, according to authorities.
He was then taken into custody and charged with:
- Third-degree assault;
- Endangering the welfare of a minor.
Watson was then arraigned in court and released pending a future court appearance.
